April Fools!

I only have one vivid memory of April Fool's Day.

One year, my friend and I tried to be sneaky and clever. We'd seen this joke where you cover pieces of soap in chocolate and serve them as a prank.

How hard could it be, right?

First problem: Cutting soap into cubes with my toothpick arms was a joke (I'm amazed I didn't lose a finger).

Second problem: I had no idea how to melt chocolate and didn't use a double boiler.

The result? Misshapen cubes covered in burned chocolate.

We couldn't get anyone to try them.

The neighbor and I tried to make "Chocolate Cream Pie" with mud when we were little and pass it off to her brother. The sticks in the mud made it look not so credible.

This isn't April Fool's Day related, and I've shared this with you before, but I'm still proud of myself. Once, when I was younger, I had my little sister convinced that the shortening was ice cream. She almost ate some, but my parents interrupted my scheming and saved her. Darn it.

that's funny!

when i was a kid there was a bully in our neighborhood and my bff and i were going to feed him a chocolate covered grasshopper. we couldn't melt the chocolate chips- we were trying to melt them in the sunlight. so our plan never came to fruition.
